About

LiquidBounce draws its menus, like the title screen, the ClickGUI and the HUD, as small web pages. To show them, the client comes with a built-in browser called Chromium, the same engine that powers Google Chrome.

This add-on gives you a second choice: the web view that is already part of your system, the one other apps use to show web pages. On Windows that is Microsoft's WebView2, on macOS Apple's WebKit, the engine of Safari, and on Linux WebKitGTK.

It is only an alternative. LiquidBounce does not run better or faster with it, and nothing changes about how the client plays. Your menus look and work the same.

How to use it

  1. Subscribe to this add-on and restart LiquidBounce.
  2. On the next start, the client asks which browser to use. Pick Wry.

Changing your mind

Your choice is remembered. To choose again, hold Shift while the client starts and pick the other browser. If you remove the add-on, LiquidBounce simply goes back to Chromium.

Good to know

  • Available for Windows 10 and 11, macOS and Linux.
  • Windows needs the WebView2 runtime, which comes with Windows 11 and updated Windows 10.
  • Linux needs WebKitGTK from your distribution, for example sudo pacman -S webkit2gtk-4.1 or sudo apt install libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0. Until it is installed, the choice tells you what to install.
  • The add-on reaches the web view through Wry. Its source is on GitHub.

Fixes the client stopping as soon as Wry is picked on LiquidBounce nextgen builds from 2 October 2026 on, where accelerated paint moved into the CEF add-on. Needs one of those builds. On Linux, install WebKitGTK first, for example `sudo pacman -S webkit2gtk-4.1` or `sudo apt install libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0`.

First release. Shows LiquidBounce's menus with the web view that comes with your system instead of the built-in Chromium: WebView2 on Windows, WKWebView on macOS and WebKitGTK on Linux. After installing it, the client asks which browser to use on its next start. Hold Shift while it starts to choose again. Needs LiquidBounce 0.40.1, or a nextgen build from 26 September 2026 on. On Linux, install WebKitGTK first, for example `sudo pacman -S webkit2gtk-4.1` or `sudo apt install libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0`. Try it and tell us how it runs on your system.
